英国2010课程纲要英语课程中的思维能力活动

1. Information processing

    Reading for information

    Key stage 1

    Using the organizational features of the non-fiction texts to find information

    Understanding that texts about the same topic may contain different information or present similar information in different ways

    Using references material for different purposes

    Key stage 2

    Distinguishing between fact and opinion

    Considering an argument critically

  Generic information-processing skills (not identified within the English programme of study)

  Generating questions and using literacy skills to locate information enabling answers to be found

  Suggesting and selecting appropriate sources

  Interrogating information contained in charts and tables and identifying and using the relevant information

  Examining similar information presented in different ways and giving reasons for which is the most useful

  Examining information and making deductions from this through sorting, classifying, sequencing, comparing and contrasting, and analyzing relationship

 

2. Reasoning skills

  Key stage 1

  Giving reasons for options and actions

  Expressing preference, giving reasons

  Key stage 2

  Making reasoned, evaluative comments as the discussion moves towards conclusions or actions

  Qualifying or justifying what they think after listening to others’ questions or accounts

  Understanding texts: using inference and deduction; looking for meaning beyond the literal

  Reading for information: considering an argument critically

  Literature: expressing preferences

  Non-fiction and non-literary texts: identifying words associated with reason, persuasion, argument, explanation

 

3. Enquiry skills

    Key stage 1

    Asking questions to clarify understanding

   Asking relevant questions to clarify, extend and follow up ideas

   Using inference materials for different purposes

   Predicting a story

   Key stage 2

  Anticipating consequences to move a discussion forward

  Asking relevant questions that can be answered using a variety of texts

  Planning what to do and how to research

 

4. Creative skills

   Key stage 1

   Extending ideas in the light of discussion

   Responding imaginatively in different ways to what is read

  Putting ideas into sentences

  Developing ideas on paper

  Creating imaginary worlds

  Key stage 2

  Asking relevant questions to clarify, extend and follow up ideas

  Considering alternatives to move a discussion forward

  Using drama to convey ideas

  Responding imaginatively to texts

  Imagining and exploring feelings and ideas

 

5. Evaluation skills

    Key stage 1

   Communicating constructively on drama or taken part in

   Planning and reviewing own writing, discussing the quality of what is written

   Key stage 2

  Evaluating own speech and reflect on how it varies

  Identifying the gist of an argument or key points in a discussion and evaluating what is heard

  Evaluating comments as a discussion moves to conclusions or actions

  Using different ways to help group discussion move forward, including summarising the main points, reviewing what has been said

  Evaluating contributions to the overall effectiveness of drama performance

  Evaluating ideas and themes that broaden perspectives and extend thinking

  Evaluating different formats, layouts and presentational devices

  Revising, changing and improving drafts

  Discussing and evaluating own and others’ writing
